Flip-Flops Season Is Near: Advice From Xenna On Getting Ready For Spring Footwear

Princeton, NJ (PRWEB) February 07, 2012

While flip-flops have become a staple summer fashion item, the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) and other foot care experts warn that the wrong pair of summer footwear can lead to problems.

“While most flip-flops are fun to wear, they are definitely not foot-friendly and need to be purchased with an eye to safety and fall-avoidance,” says Carol J. Buck, CEO of Xenna Corporation (http://www.xenna.com).

However, the APMA has given its seal of approval to some styles, such as those made by FitFlop and Orthaheel.

As a distributor of natural, diabetic-friendly foot care products nationwide, Xenna gets close to feet every day. Xenna’s NonyX® Nail Gel (pronounced “Non-X”) takes a natural approach to the problem of yellow, discolored toenails and its Callex® Exfoliating Dry Heel Ointment uses fast-acting, natural enzymes to soften and smooth rough, cracked heels.

Buck offers some timely tips on buying and wearing flip-flops this year:

1.    Never buy flip-flops that can be bent in half or twisted because they won’t give feet the necessary support;

2.    Check the tread surface before you buy: It should be rough and able to grip the surface of smooth or wet surfaces;

3.    Check your old flip-flops and throw out any with worn-out tread or rips, as this could cause a fall on wet, granite or tiled surfaces, such as the floors of malls and pool areas;

4.    Before you decide to buy your next pair of flip-flops, walk in them around the store while honestly asking yourself, “Are these sandals really comfortable? Do the straps rub by toes or heels in a way that would hurt after a few blocks?”

5.    Diabetics should avoid wearing flip-flops because bare feet are too easily exposed to cuts and scrapes.

For more flip-flop purchasing and health tips, visit http://www.apma.org/flipfloptips.

While flip-flops have evolved into what many view as a fashion necessity, another “flip side” to wearing them can also be unattractive feet and toenails.

More than 50 percent of women say their feet embarrass them “always, frequently or sometimes,” according to a 2008 study of 500 women by Kelton Research for the American Podiatric Medical Association.

“Many people who would actually like to wear flip-flops simply won’t because they’re too embarrassed by how their feet and toenails look,” says Ms. Buck. “Xenna foot care products were developed to address that problem.”

For those too embarrassed by dry, cracked feet to bare them in sandals or flip-flops, Xenna’s acid-free, diabetic-friendly CalleX Exfoliating Dry Heel Ointment offers a fast-acting way to keep feet soft and smooth.

CalleX quickly thins and softens hard, thick skin and removes dry, cracked or scaly buildup. CalleX is used and sold by many podiatrists, but can also be purchased in the foot care section of chain drugstores and mass retailers.

Free of potentially irritating acids, colorants, parabens and lanolin, the natural enzymes in CalleX exfoliate ONLY dry, hardened skin, leaving normal skin unaffected, as it moisturizes and rejuvenates dry, cracked heels.

For unsightly toenails, Xenna’s patented, diabetic-friendly NonyX Nail Gel exfoliates the dark, yellow or thick granular material called keratin debris, which can build up under nails over time.

With regular use, the gel softens, breaks down and then clears out unattractive keratin debris so it can be scraped out from under the nail beginning after about four weeks. Once keratin debris is removed, NonyX Gel keeps nails looking clear and attractive with regular use.

“For those who want to be in flip-flops this summer, winter is really the time to get started on a personal foot care regimen, especially if you have unsightly toenails,” concludes Ms. Buck.

$ 4 and $ 5 rebate coupons for NonyX Nail Gel and CalleX Ointment are available at http://www.xenna.com/xenna_coupons.html.

Xenna products are made in the USA and are 100% money-back guaranteed.

NonyX can be found in the footcare aisle at Walgreens, Walmart, CVS, Rite Aid (larger stores), Duane Reade, Kinney Drugs, Kerr Drug, HEB, many Medicine Shoppes, Marsh, ShopKo and Harris Teeter.

CalleX Ointment is available in the footcare aisle at Walgreens, Rite Aid, Kinney Drugs, many Medicine Shoppes, Kerr Drug and Stop & Shop.

Both products are also available online at http://www.drugstore.com and http://www.xenna.com.

Xenna products are biodegradable, contain no animal byproducts and are not tested on animals.

Hello…

The easiest way to keep a clean diet is to not eat: fried foods, fast food, sodas, basically throw junk food away!

As far as protein you need 1 gram of protein per pound of weight.

180 pound person needs 180 grams of protein. (preferably from your diet, chicken, fish) But protein shakes can help add protein.

Good Luck!

Let me know if you have any questions.

Question by Enlightenme!: A good site for short workout plans for getting ripped?

Hi all,

I am looking for a site that lists workout plans for getting ripped – home workouts.

I am 37 and consider myself to be in great shape – I go running regularly and lift weights regularly. However, I am looking for ideas for short (30 minute) workouts with weights that will aid in my goal in getting ripped.

So I would appreciate it if you can suggest a few good sites for ideas.

Thanks

Hi,

Getting “ripped” has many different factors involved. There is no specific secret to getting ripped, but proper training and diet is essential. By getting ripped, do you mean lean vascular muscle, but not that big, or do you mean big muscle but still lean and not overweight? Either way, you have to eat, a lot. Proper nutrition before and after you workout are most important. Eat 30-60 minutes before you workout, then consume another meal within an hour after your workout. Basic principle, high reps equal endurance and performance, medium reps equals size and some performance as well, and low reps equals power. Doing medium reps (8-12) while eating healthy and often (every 2 hours) will get you some good muscle mass, along with cardio 2 days a week. The cardio will ensure you don’t put on unwanted fat, but if you are eating good, protein rich foods you be putting on size and muscle with minimal fat, that is if you workout on a regular basis.

Push ups and pull ups will diffidently get you toned and put on some muscle, but your body will stop responding over a period of time because you will be doing the same thing over and over. It will adapt because you will be only be doing push ups (your body weight) and pull ups (your body weight) over and over, and not adding more stress (weight). You have to challenge your body and give it a reason to grow, by adding weight and forcing it to grow so it can continually support the stress you are putting on it. Switch up your routines every couple months to ensure new growth once your body gets used to its current routine. Good luck!
